Over the course of four months, 826DC worked alongside ninth and tenth grade students at the SEED School of Washington, DC in an intensive poetry workshop. Everyone Is Moving, No One In Place is the culmination of that work, with poems about the adolescent experience, advice on writing and life, and the dynamics of a changing city.
As Cave Canem prize-winning poet and Director of Creative Writing at American University, Kyle Dargan, writes in the forward, "You may not know Chuck Brown from Chuck Berry. You do know the joys and anxieties of being a teenager." Published with support from The Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice at Georgetown University and the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities, Everyone Is Moving, No One In Place is a poetry collection that speaks to the changes in our lives, the places where we live, and the challenges and inspirations we experience.
